Aku has unknowingly found the door through which to visit digital space, and embrace his destiny as Aku, the first Digital Explorer.

What sets Aku apart is his freedom and confidence, his openness to people of all kinds, his desire to help. He is a digital samurai willing to lend his sword to defend others. He has his own code. He shows up when he’s needed. Throughout his travels in the digital realms, he sees no reason to hide his true identity. He’s always the same person no matter where he is.

This collection wouldn't exist without the help of the Aku Community. The concept for this collection was around the love that the community has for Aku's dreams and aspirations, and authenticity.

Aleali May is an internationally regarded style consultant, model, and designer. Known by most for a personal style that seamlessly fuses the street-inspired tones of her South Central Los Angeles upbringing with luxury runway pieces. Aleali’s first foray into fashion came when she moved to Chicago to attend Columbia College in 2010. She would later accept an offer from Don C to start working at RSVP Gallery, a budding hub for pop art and luxury streetwear goods that would allow her to begin connecting with industry taste- makers en route to becoming one herself. Aleali began amassing a sizable social media following as she blogged about her enviable outfits and friends, managing to flip virtual buzz into real opportunities ahead of the influencer boom. In 2013, she begin styling clients such as Jaden Smith, Kendrick Lamar, and Lil Yachty – with rising stars Kali Uchis and Kehlani most recently added to her list.

As talent, she has worked with brands such as A-Cold-Wall, Smashbox cosmetics, Savage x Fenty, and Louis Vuitton (to name a few). She is the host of “Get It Together”, a style-focused video series that covers her duality in fashion on Complex Networks. The show has featured interviews with Rhuigi of Rhude, Tony Hawk, A$AP Ferg, and Jerry Lorenzo.

As a designer, she has been a partner with Jordan Brand, setting a historic precedent as the first woman to ever design and release a unisex sneaker. The collaboration would mark the first in an ongoing relationship with Aleali helping to relaunch Jordan Brand’s entire women’s department and designing six other iterations of Jordan sneakers to date.

Aleali has become not only one of the most influential women in the sneaker industry, but one of the most sought-after talents across multiple creative disciplines. All of her work centers on dismantling outdated gender norms in fashion and expanding the margins for everything she touches.
